It’s the small things that count.
Organising in-person and live events isn’t easy. There are so many elements that have to be taken into account to suit ALL our visitors.
And that’s why we love to hear personal experiences like this. Hearing from our visitors is invaluable, and cements the fact that we’re doing a good job…
We’ll let you read this from Keiko Kozu:
“Last week, Jon Bussey and I had the opportunity to attend the marketingSHOWCASE event in Manchester.
When I was in Japan, I used to attend events hosted by the Japan Shopping Center Association to network with clients and people from competitor companies. After moving to the UK and changing industries — from fashion and retail development/sales to marketing — I wanted to expand my curiosity and my connections in the marketing field.
In the end, I wasn’t able to build new networks this time, but there were 11 seminars throughout the day, held across three different rooms, and I managed to attend three of them.
One that caught my interest was titled “How to market boring B2B products.”
In my previous job, I was surrounded by shiny, glamorous fashion items, but now we sell straightforward, practical cables — exactly what the title described! So, I was very curious.
I was a little nervous about understanding the presentations in English, but the speaker’s pronunciation and pace were very clear and easy to follow. It gave me confidence that our current marketing direction isn’t wrong.
The other seminars were also great, but some speakers talked quite fast, and I occasionally got lost in the English. That was a bit disappointing, but Jon understood everything and said they were excellent, so overall I felt very satisfied.
They’re planning to hold another event in Leeds this autumn, so I’m positively considering attending!
By the way, this event is free to attend (you just need to register). Amazing! I’m so grateful — thank you! 💕 “
