They have many! The main functions include coming up with strategies to sell a company or brand’s products and to make sure that they generate a positive perception of that brand.
To do this includes market research, generating brand awareness, securing brand positioning, developing content marketing strategies and managing several campaigns and promotions. This also includes handling internal communications, and managing relationships with external clients and agencies.

Marketing departments conduct research to understand customer needs and wants. This includes identifying target audiences, analysing their behaviours, and understanding their preferences. This includes tracking market trends, including competitor activities, to identify opportunities and adapt strategies.
Marketing campaigns and promotions:
The marketing department creates and manages marketing campaigns to promote products and services. They oversee the execution of campaigns, including advertising, social media, and content marketing. They also track campaign performance and analyse results to optimise future efforts.
Content creation and management:
Marketers develop written, visual, and video content to engage with the target audience and drive conversions. They optimise content (SEO) for search engines and manage the company website.
Social Media and Digital Marketing:
They create and manage social media presence, including content, engagement, and advertising. They use social media listening to discover trends and engage with followers.They manage paid advertising campaigns on social media and other online platforms.
